South Chick Greenway Wetland Boardwalk Spur

Build a short boardwalk spur off the South Chickamauga Greenway near 17th Street into the adjacent wetlands, creating an immersive nature observation point. The boardwalk would extend about 200 feet into the wetland with an observation platform at the end overlooking the marsh habitat. The wetlands along South Chick Creek are ecologically rich but invisible from the greenway. A boardwalk spur would let trail users experience this hidden ecosystem — herons, turtles, dragonflies — without disturbing the habitat. It would serve as an outdoor classroom for nearby schools and a unique attraction on the greenway.
