Plant native pollinator gardens in the Hardy Elementary schoolyard, creating butterfly and bee habitat that doubles as an outdoor science classroom. The gardens would feature native milkweed, coneflower, bee balm, and other pollinator-supporting plants in three raised beds visible from classroom windows. Pollinator populations are declining nationwide, and schoolyard gardens are a tangible way for students to participate in conservation. Hardy Elementary's yard has sunny, underused areas perfect for pollinator beds. Teachers would integrate the gardens into science curriculum, and students would maintain them during the school year.
